‘Love is in the air’ for Nim’s with limited edition Tesco launch
Love is in the air for the UK’s only air-dried fruit and vegetable crisps manufacturer this week when it launches its latest limited edition range.
Nim’s, which is committed to delivering a healthier alternative to traditional snacks, has created crisps from a naturally crimson coloured fresh variety of apples - just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Aptly called RedLove, the 20g packs cost just £1 and will be available exclusively in over 1400 Tesco stores across the UK and could be used to decorate romantic cocktails, top desserts or just to enjoy as an aperitif to dinner.
The company is also giving couples the chance to buy a gift box, containing two packs and a handwritten card inviting your loved one to ‘share with me’ or perhaps even a proposal if the mood is right.
“I’m pretty sure this is the first ever dedicated Valentine crisp pack ever sold,” pointed out Nimisha Raja, founder of Nim’s Fruit Crisps.
“We wanted to create a fun, affordable gift and, given it’s leap year, maybe even use it as a unique way of proposing to your ‘crisp-loving’ Valentine
“It’s the same great taste as our best-selling variety, just red fleshed to give that crimson appearance. The limited edition ranges are proving extremely successful for our business and this Valentine special comes just a few weeks after we sold thousands of packets of our ‘festive’ crisps.”
She went on to add: “Our RedLove apple range will pave the way for future launches in 2020, with Halloween set to be another big opportunity for us to bring a completely new flavour out.”
Nim’s is the brainchild of Nimisha Raja, who was becoming increasingly disenchanted by the lack of healthy snacks on offer for parents and toddlers and decided to do something about it.
She sold her coffee shop and house and ploughed all of the money into launching the UK’s only air-dried fruit crisp brand, quickly building a state-of-the-art factory that can produce 12 million packs every year.
Her products, which are one of your five-a-day, nut/gluten free and certified vegan and Kosher are now sold in Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and across hundreds of independent retailers.
“It has been a really exhilarating start to the year, especially after being featured on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped programme,” explained Nimisha.
“Interest went through the roof after being on TV, with one of the UK’s major supermarkets getting in touch about potentially adding our products to their shelves.”
