Somerset counselling charity benefits from Community Fund donation
David Wilson Homes has given We Hear You (WHY) a much-needed boost – by donating £1,000.
Taken from its 2019 Community Fund, the money provided will support the charity’s work in providing a free professional counselling service to anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or another life-threatening condition.
“We Hear You is a wonderful organisation that provides important emotional support to people at a time when they are most vulnerable. Cancer, and other life-threatening conditions, affect a great many of us and services like WHY make an incredible difference to people’s lives,” said Ian Menham, David Wilson Homes managing director.
“These services are provided for free so fundraising is essential, and we had no hesitation in helping WHY through our Community Fund. Coping with cancer can be difficult and we are glad to be able to help such a worthy cause in providing vital services for people in need in Somerset.”
The Community Fund is a dedicated resource for backing local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.
Helen White, Fundraising Officer at WHY, added: “The money donated to us helps individuals, their families and friends affected by a life-threatening diagnosis, and it’s wonderful to have companies like David Wilson Homes supporting local people in this way. This donation will help us continue our important work and we are extremely grateful.”
David Wilson Homes has pledged to support those living in areas where it is building new communities and makes monthly donations to good causes.
