re:find celebrates 5th birthday with high-profile appointment

One of Birmingham’s fastest growing interim and executive search recruitment specialists is celebrating its 5th birthday in style after securing new contracts with Wincanton Logistics, ABP and luxury department store Harrods.

re:find, which was formed in 2015 by James Cumming to create a more helpful type of recruitment business, has seen turnover grow 30% year-on-year after its reputation for building strategic partnerships and delivering the right people for the right role led to a number of impressive wins.

In order to cope with its expansion, the firm has recently recruited Carly O’Connell to support its increasingly popular HR and People Change practice.

The new interim and executive search specialist brings with her over 12 years’ experience of working in the human resources and business transformation space, not to mention a wealth of contacts from across the UK.

“Moving to Birmingham three years ago has really transformed our business and we’re delighted to be celebrating our fifth birthday by strengthening our team even further and launching an exciting number of initiatives for the sector,” explained James Cumming, who is joined at the helm by fellow Director Carl Hinett.

“Simple, honest recruitment, where we focus on finding niche talent has really paid off, attracting local firms, major multi-nationals and even global brands like Harrods.”

He continued: “Carly’s appointment is a major addition for our business and takes us to seven people, all operating out of our offices on Newhall Street in Birmingham. Her experience, knowledge of the sector and track record in recruitment is brilliant and she’ll really help us grow the HR and People Change side of the business.”

Carly O’Connell said: “re:find share my values based on being honest and helpful, as well as looking at securing long-term genuine relationships, not just short-term wins.

“As a seasoned recruiter, I know that cultural fit is highly important, and I will use experience gained from working across many sectors to deliver a service that matches the individual to the culture and not their CV to a checklist.”

re:find offers interim and executive search in HR, Business Change and Shared Services to clients working across the public and private sector, including Birmingham Airport, McKesson, Kingfisher and University College of London.

Additional services include psychometric assessment and free executive coaching throughout the vital onboarding period, ensuring the new hire is effective from day one.

James went on to add: “We’ve got lots planned for 2020, including the growth of our Midlands HR Directors Round Table. There were lots of events in London like this, but none in our region so we decided to do something about it and have already attracted board level HR Directors and FTSE employees.

“There has also been a joint venture agreed with internal communication specialists Masgroves to form the Ant Hill Mob, a collective that is looking to win business by collaborating with complementary professional services providers.”

He concluded: “You can learn more about this concept at our quarterly Thursday Brunch sessions and also Our Big Brunch event at the end of October, which will feature amazing speakers and Michelin-starred chef Brad Carter at the Compound, one of Birmingham’s quirkiest venues!”
