Chester Scouts Receive a Helping Hand from Local Housebuilder
**Chester-based Blueoak Estates created a new outdoor space for the Scout Group to observe wildlife and practice their gardening skills. **
A project to provide a new outdoor space for the 18th Chester (St Mary’s) Scout Group has recently been completed.
Local housebuilder, Blueoak Estates, cleared and levelled an area of scrubland and installed paving and planters to improve the Westminster Park Scout Hut on Manor Road, which is used every week by Scouts, Clubs and Beavers aged between 6 and 14 years old.
Group Scout Leader, Sue Jones said, “We are so grateful to Blueoak Estates for providing us with a new area for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to use. It means that our resources can be concentrated on providing and supporting activities for our young people.
“The children are already planning which bee-friendly flowers to plant and using the new space to complete their badges and challenges. We can’t thank the Blueoak team enough.”
Iain MacLean, Managing Director of Blueoak Estates said, “We are committed to creating thriving communities and supporting initiatives and groups in and around the North West where our homes are based.
“Many of the team’s children are members of the 18th Chester Scout Group so it was a joy for us all to get involved. It has been great to hear about how the new outdoor space is being used.”
Blueoak Estates also supports Chester’s Storyhouse, events such as the Wilson Trophy Cup and last year, helped the Make A Wish Foundation to build a garden den for a 10-year-old with cancer.
