Tenth anniversary signals more growth plans for spottydog communications

Communications consultancy spottydog communications has celebrated its ten-year anniversary by unleashing a host of initiatives to reinforce its commitment to creating best of breed communications, delivered by pedigree people.

At a special celebration dinner at Hotel du Vin in Birmingham, Founder & CEO of spottydog, Rachel Roberts announced plans to further grow the business and build on the success that has already made spottydog Birmingham’s largest city-centre consultancy in just ten years. The rapid growth of spottydog has led to the twenty-strong pack now growing into its seventh office location, which has led to the move to New Oxford House in Birmingham’s business district in January 2020.

Coupled with this move the team has welcomed one new client – US pet brand Earth Animal – together with three new team members, Bob Martin, Alice Sellars and Alex Panton to expand their inhouse Creative & Studio team, in response to continued growth in video, graphic design, audio content and motion graphics.

2020 will also see the expansion of spottydog’s Talent Spot programme, supporting young talent to get their first career role in PR, social media, internal communications and digital content. Starting in February, spottydog will increase the number of paid work-experience placements on offer, together with hosting an Open House event each term inviting students to visit the company and hear from young professionals. Supporting the development of established marketing professionals spottydog will also launch Coaching Circle, a new group for inhouse solo marketing professionals to access peer-to-peer support, brainstorming, learning and development.

Commenting on spottydog’s milestone celebration Rachel Roberts said: “I founded spottydog to create a place for talented people who want to deliver best of breed work, so our ten year celebration has been about thanking the 37 colleagues and 65 clients who have been part of our first ten years as well as ensuring we can continue to create opportunities for those in the future. Everything we do at spottydog is centred around our people, starting from designing our workspace to maximise team engagement and creating a great place to work, through to supporting career and professional development which has helped us be recognised as one of the top five SMEs in the country for graduate employment.

“We’re all looking forward to welcoming clients and new colleagues to join us in 2020 as we’ve got big plans to get even bigger. With so much planned for 2020 and beyond I look forward to sharing more tails from the team over our next ten years.”

Rachel added: “Thank you again to everyone who has been part of the spottydog story in our first decade.

“I’ve loved celebrating this cracking milestone, thanking team members, clients and friends of spottydog who have helped us to take our first steps from start-up to now, in our tenth year, becoming Birmingham’s biggest city centre PR agency.”
