Winn Group appoints Marta Fernández Varona as Group Finance Director

Winn Group is delighted to announce that Marta Fernández Varona was appointed to the role of Group Finance Director beginning on Monday 3rd February.

Marta brings over 30 years of professional financial expertise to Winn Group. Her most recent position was as Group Finance Director at Hays Travel, the biggest independent travel agency in the UK, where, over 6 years, Marta guided the finance team through industry and company changes.

Before that, Marta held senior strategic financial roles in a variety of large international companies, managing the finance function for start-ups as well as through mergers, acquisitions and divestments. Marta brings a wide variety of industry experience to Winn Group including in rented commercial vehicles, telecoms, packaging and mineral extraction among others.

Chris Birkett, Winn Group Chief Operating Officer, announced Marta’s appointment to Winn Group saying,

“I am pleased to welcome Marta to the Group. Marta brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record as a Finance Director, latterly playing a key role in the success of Hays Travel. We look forward to working with Marta in the challenging, but exciting times ahead.“

Marta added,

“I am delighted to be joining Winn Group with responsibility for the finance function. In particular, I am looking forward to combining my experience from other industries with the existing expertise of the Winn Group team to embrace upcoming industry changes.“
