Multi-million Skipton residential conversion gets underway
Work has started on a £5.6M residential conversion of the former job centre and tax office in Yorkshire.
Skipton-based property developer Candelisa is redeveloping Cavendish House into 26 one and two bedroom apartments, which are scheduled for completion by February 2021.
Cavendish House is located on Newmarket Street in the centre of the popular North Yorkshire market town, alongside a bowling-green and stream.
Guy Taylor, Candelisa managing director, commented: “We are delighted to have commenced work on this exciting scheme which will provide residents with an oasis of calm and tranquillity right in the heart of the town.
“We expect plenty of interest from a range of customers including downsizers and first time buyers who will be attracted by its central location, superb overall specification and imaginative use of space.”
Candelisa has also released the final phase of apartments at its Horace Mills scheme in Cononley.
The remaining apartments within the former textile mill provide one, two and three bedroom accommodation with prices starting from £165k. The Government backed ‘Help to Buy’ scheme is also available.
Meanwhile only five of the 53 energy-efficient new build houses now remain at Horace Green in Cononley.
The exclusive development of bespoke two to five bedroom country homes forms part of The Motor Works development along with Horace Mills.
Mr Taylor commented: “The success of this scheme can be attributed to thoughtful design, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
“The materials have also been selected to ensure compatibility with the stunning local landscape which together guarantees every property is of the highest possible quality.”
