Baby hospice receives ‘fantastic’ donation from Liverpool company
Appreciate Group plc, the UK’s leading multi-retailer, multi-channel gift voucher and prepaid gift card provider, has raised £8,000 in aid of children’s charity, Zoe’s Place, following a series of company-wide fundraising events.
Thanks to a large annual Christmas raffle, which saw over 200 prizes donated, as well as a scheme where employees and local business owners were able to purchase furniture and appliances leftover from the firm’s recent move, Appreciate Group were able to raise £8,000 for the charity.
Zoe’s Place is an independent baby hospice and provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to 5 years, suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Ian O’Doherty, CEO of Appreciate Group, was on hand to surprise the team with the fundraising cheque. He said: “Zoe’s Place means a great deal to all of us here at Appreciate Group; our ongoing partnership has meant that it is now at the very heart of our company.
“The relationship between us dates back to when we were still known as Park Group and were based in Birkenhead. Natasha from Zoe’s Place has been into the offices on numerous occasions and has made a huge impression on all of the staff.
“We’re proud to support the incredible work that Zoe’s Place does. It’s a tremendously inspirational charity, and we know these funds are being used to help families throughout the region and beyond.”
Natasha Baggaley, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Zoe’s Place said: “We are so grateful for the support we have received and continue to receive from Appreciate Group.
“As an independent charity, these donations have a huge impact and enable the hospice to continue to offer our facilities and support to families in need. The donations we’ve received from Appreciate Group equates to running the hospice for 2 days for up to 6 children per day.”
“This was a lovely surprise for us as we weren’t expecting anything, and we definitely didn’t expect this fantastic amount! It certainly brightened up our day when they turned up and surprised us with the cheque!”
This donation is part of Appreciate Group’s ongoing commitment to creating and spreading joy throughout Merseyside and beyond, with the team also gifting both Liverpool FC Foundation and Everton in the Community with Christmas hampers in December.
