Diamond Group is scaling up and shining bright

A North East provider of bespoke office solutions is looking to scale up thanks to a regional growth programme.

Diamond Group, which offers IT solutions, telecoms, office furniture and office printing equipment, is working with the Scale-Up North East programme, benefitting from specialist support to help the firm to grow. The programme is delivered by RTC North in conjunction with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

John Burns, managing director of Diamond Group, said: “We met the Scaleup team at a networking event and then one of the partners, Craig Huntingdon, who has been offering us support with our plans to scale up.

“The support means we have been able to move into the production print market, which will lead to us taking on another three to six members of staff this year. It will also enable us to deliver our own workshops for scaling up.”

Programme manager Sarah Pavlou said: “It’s great to work collaboratively with companies like Diamond Group. We have a shared interest in helping companies manage change and achieve strong but sustainable growth.

“Through partnerships like this, we are also helping to build a more robust business ecosystem that will support and drive growth.”

As well as one-to-one support, the team at Diamond Group also benefitted from RTC North’s peer-to-peer groups, where business leaders meet to share their experiences of growth and offer practical, first-hand advice.

John added: “We are in a very strong position to scale up, as we are the only company in North East to provide bespoke solutions for all office technology services, as well as office furniture and being able to provide transformation and growth strategies.

“We’re looking to increase turnover from the £5m to £10m mark over the next five years, and with today’s cloud technology and latest state of the art multi-function printers available, we are perfectly placed to provide companies with one solution to give them the best opportunity to grow and prosper.”
