UK-wide High Street delivery lifeline for local communities takes off!
The award-winning digital platform ShopAppy.com is re-engineering its tech solution to enable a temporary local delivery to support communities to shop local even if they feel they need to stay at home.
Founder of Shop Local enterprise ShopAppy.com Dr Jackie Mulligan is inviting businesses, town and city centres as well as market operators to join her digital platform for FREE as the footfall and spending impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic escalates.
Jackie comments: “Our entire concept was about getting people to come back into our High Streets, but now people are going out less, if at all. This is our bid to help the many businesses (retail and hospitality) in our towns and cities that are feeling the pinch. Whilst there is a rush to supermarkets or ordering online from warehouses, people will see that items are available in local shops and are more often locally sourced.“
The ShopAppy.com platform will be enabling any businesses, towns, cities or markets to sell their products and special packages in one place online and will be partnering with local delivery partners to enable same day home delivery for the next 3 months online and by telephone.
Kendal was the first to go live this week and Northallerton, Saltaire and Todmorden were close behind. Over 50 towns have been in touch with Jackie this week, from Bognor Regis in Sussex to Coleraine in Northern Ireland. Now Swansea BID has come on board and it it looks like Yorkshire Coast BID may also join.
Jackie adds:“We have seen an upsurge in communities helping each other through this outbreak, so we hope that this service will help many places and local neighbours to connect with their local businesses. The platform will also enable people who live far away from friends and relatives to order and get items delivered to those they love and care about.“ I
