Octavian IT completes major contract for security and risk management facility

Nottinghamshire-based managed IT services specialist Octavian IT has completed a major contract for a new specialist security and risk management company providing professional services to individuals, businesses, and organisations

Octavian IT supplied all tech support for DS Operations Centre (DS-SOC) in Doncaster, supplying integrated networking packages, for the new £2.4m facility which has just come online.

Ben Solomon, Managing Director of Octavian IT, said: “This is real breakthrough project for the team at Octavian. It is fantastic to work on such an important facility and I hope it’s the first of many for DS.

“I’d like to thank my team for working so hard – often late into the night – to ensure that the systems were up and running to time-critical deadlines. They’ve all been fantastic.”

The DS-SOC contains an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) as well as a Security Operations Centre (SOC) meaning the firm can action real time threats to an organisation, whether it be due to an alarm being activated or a brand being mentioned on the dark web in a derogatory way. Specialist operators and analysts are able to remotely monitor, investigate and response effectively.

Dave Cox, chief security officer at DS Operations Centre, said: “Ben and the Octavian team’s hard work and commitment to the project has not gone unnoticed, even down to working late last night to make sure we were ready.

“The Octavian team were incredibly impressive and they’ve gone the extra mile to get the new Doncaster facility up and running. They really bought into the project and we now see them as an extension our own team as we go forward.”
