Bacardi teams up with Deliveroo as part of £1.5m investment
Spirits company Bacardi has announced a new partnership with online delivery platform Deliveroo to support bartenders during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group has teamed up with Deliveroo Editions to launch its #RaiseYourSpirits virtual bar as part of an initial £1.5m investment to support the hospitality industry during the government-mandated shutdown of bars and restaurants.
The initiative, which will launch in London and Manchester next week, aims to give over 120 bars a platform to sell their drinks to local customers across the country.
Bars in London and Manchester will be able to utilise Deliveroo Editions’ kitchens to create their signature cocktails for delivery to customers across the cities.
Steve Young, on-trade sales director for Bacardi - UK & Ireland, commented: “Our strong relationships with bars and bartenders in the UK is incredibly important to us, and as we face the current challenges together, we’re doing all we can to provide the support they need.
“We’re proud to be taking positive action to help, but this is just day one.
“Our support for bars and our bartender community will continue right until the day they can reopen their doors, and then beyond. We’re in this together.”
