Doncaster decontaminator secures six-figure investment to fight coronavirus
A decontamination services provider in Doncaster has secured £150k in capital to enable it to upscale its operations in the fight against coronavirus.
IP&C Solutions provides decontamination to laboratories nationwide, and has used the cash injection to extend its services to sites including hospitals, schools, play areas and workplaces, seven days a week.
In addition to fumigation, the company installs laboratory equipment and has also been helping set up new testing facilities around the country to meet the growing demand.
Established in 2017, IP&C’s clients include Oxford and Cambridge Universities and the NHS. NPIF – Mercia Debt Finance, which is managed by Mercia and is part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, offered the £150k loan to support the company’s growth.
Neil Anderson, who founded the company alongside Carol Duke, said: “Alongside our laboratory work we have decontaminated ships, schools, offices and warehouses as well as hospitals and emergency vehicles in order to keep things moving.
“In some cases, the sites have closed down but the managers want reassurance that the building is virus-free, or that it is safe to move equipment off site. Where locations have remained up and running, fumigation provides an additional safeguard.
“While we are at the sharp end in the fight against coronavirus, we are working to support the NHS and laboratory staff. Our job is all about safety and gives the people working there greater peace of mind.”
Pete Sorsby of Mercia added: “The team at IP&C are playing an important role in the fight against Covid-19 and the funding is helping them to step up their operations.
“We continue to support all our clients through this challenging time and we are still open to new applications from other businesses seeking funding for growth.”
