Front appointed by social enterprise Blend Kitchen for rebrand project
Creative agency Front has been appointed by Blend Kitchen – the Sheffield based social enterprise café, bar and restaurant that aims to use cuisine and hospitality to enhance people’s lives.
Blend was founded in 2018 by Chris Hanson with a vision to help local people who find it difficult to secure employment kick start their careers in catering. Since its inception, the organisation has helped scores of people including ex-armed forces personnel who suffer from PTSD as well as people with mental health issues and learning difficulties.
For the past two years, Blend Kitchen has been located at 18 Pinstone Street right in the heart of Sheffield city centre. However, in September it will reopen at 197 Ecclesall Rd in a building owned by Twinkl which specialises in teacher-created planning and assessment materials and teaching resources. The new venue will be open to the public and will also act as Twinkl’s staff canteen.
Front’s brief is to rebrand Blend Kitchen, create its new website and coordinate the new café’s interior design. The new brand and website will be launched in conjunction with the opening.
Lucy Redmond – Account Director at Front (pictured) – said: “Blend Kitchen is an amazing concept that adds so much value to those it helps and the wider community so we are honoured to be partnering with them on this project on a pro-bono basis. Our focus is on making sure the new brand reflects its core aim of bringing people from all walks of life come together to enjoy amazing food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Gareth Jones - Blend Kitchen Trustee and Chair – said: “We were impressed with Front’s understanding of our current mission and our future aims which are all about putting the people we work with at the forefront of everything we do. We are now looking forward to collaborating with the team and then launching the new venue over the coming months.”
