New MD for Persimmon Homes South East
Persimmon Homes South East has appointed Brendon O’Neill as its new managing director.
He brings with him 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, most recently as MD and Divisional Managing Director with McCarthy & Stone South Division.
It is a return to Persimmon for Brendon, who started his career with Ideal Homes in 1985. They were taken over by Persimmon Homes in 1986 and Brendon quickly rose through the ranks from a junior land buyer to regional managing director. He left them in 2002 to join St James Group as Group Managing Director, returning to Persimmon from 2004-2007 as Southern Division Chairman. Top positions at Bloor, Barratt, Linden Homes and Bovis followed.
Brendon said: “My immediate focus is to keep the rudder steady on the stable team we have here in the South East, which has been made easier by the welcome I have received from many colleagues I was working with more than 10 years ago.
“I started my career in land and planning, and here in the South East we have a strong land bank, with a good strategic land base being converted into our short-term supply. “It feels good to be back at Persimmon, and not least to see the company focus now very much on customer service.”
Born in Hampshire but bred in Wiltshire, Brendon’s career has spanned the whole of the South East and his appointment sees him reunited with Regional Chairman Martyn Clark and Sales Director Martin Crick, both of whom he worked with at Bloor.
Persimmon Homes South East is currently building on 11 developments across Kent and East Sussex.
