Gateshead tech firm to create "at least" 15 jobs after 60 per cent turnover growth

A North East tech firm has announced that it will be creating 15 jobs with the launch of a new IT service.

Synergi, based in Gateshead, is creating the jobs to support its new managed IT service, providing security monitoring and recovery services.

The company expects the new platform to add “at least” 15 new jobs to its existing team of 35.

It said that the new service will support its continuing growth trajectory, which saw it achieve a 60 per cent boost in turnover last year, hitting the £3m turnover mark.

Peter Joynson, Synergi’s chief executive officer, commented: “The launch of a new, fully or co-managed service is the next logical step in our business plan and comes at a time when adoption of cloud technology is at the fore, particularly with the explosion in remote or home working.

“The new managed service means that instead of dealing with several partners each supplying certain elements, clients can work with one specialist technology partner who can provide everything from the design phase through to the implementation and support of the IT platforms and applications.

“Organisations are under very real pressure in the current circumstances, and looking to tap into the cost and efficiency benefits of automation and consuming technology within a contract framework that can flex with their needs.

“Our track record of helping a prestigious client list to drive process efficiency and adopt modern applications, supported by flexible contracts and high service standards, means we can successfully fill this gap in the market.

“The business environment is at a pivotal moment, with a massive opportunity to review and modernise existing business models as we go forward.

“The next few months are likely to see organisations emerging with new strategies around business transformation and we feel the time is right to extend our portfolio and offer another layer of support exactly when it is needed.

“We expect to create at least 15 new jobs in the coming months, with more in the pipeline.

“Creating a new managed service practice fits perfectly with our long-term objectives, which is to continue driving our core values of excellence, integrity and flexibility, and by doing so become the managed services provider of choice for North East businesses and beyond.”
