Mediaworks Launches Free Virtual Marketing Course with York St John University

North East based award-winning marketing agency Mediaworks has partnered with York St John University to offer a free three-week online course, specialising in digital marketing to help the region bounce back from lockdown. With social distancing restrictions imposed for the foreseeable, a successful online presence is key to local business and economic bounce back. Mediaworks and York St John University have created an introductory version of their MSc Digital Marketing and Data Analytics to help support the North East business region and local workforce learn more about the basics of digital marketing. Starting on 20th May, the course will be available virtually and open to local businesses who want their people to learn more about moving online. It is also available to any individuals who may have been furloughed, placed on reduced hours, or recent graduates who want an opportunity to upskill, cross skill, or look at a new career in digital marketing.

Brett Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer at Mediaworks, said: “This course has been designed for local businesses, professionals, graduates, marketers and workers from all backgrounds, who have been affected by the recent pandemic. We want to help the region by offering a wide range of individuals an opportunity to develop a new or existing skill-set in digital marketing alongside York St John University. The course is free of charge and only requires a minimum of 10 hours of online learning time over a three-week period, meaning any individual or business can be flexible when they choose to study. On completion, each student will receive a university certificate of completion and have the option to apply directly for the MSC in Digital Marketing and Data Analytics at the start of the next academic year. I would encourage anyone who is interested in a career in digital marketing or helping their business grow their online presence, to apply and improve your knowledge in an area which will be key to this economic growth now and in the near future.” Bob Gammie, Dean of the York Business School, commented: “We are delighted to work collaboratively in partnership with the Mediaworks to deliver a truly innovative open learning experience. The course is open to all learners regardless of experience in the digital marketing field. We hope as many learners as possible take this opportunity to gain real world insight and knowledge in a discipline that is in such high demand globally.” The course offers access to free online training and content provided by Mediaworks to help build up skills across topics such as Search Engine Optimisation, Pay-Per-Click Marketing, and Digital Analytics.
