Planning consent granted for Morley pub to be redeveloped as residence
A 19th century pub in Morley is set to be redeveloped into a residential property.
The Shoulder of Mutton pub has received planning consent to be demolished and replaced by a dwelling on its quarter-acre site plot, located on Morley’s Howden Clough Road.
The property, which is currently vacant, will go up for online auction with Pugh in June at a guide price of £150k.
Paul Thompson, managing director at Pugh, said: “The Shoulder of Mutton was a well-loved pub and it would be great to see the site become an asset to the community once again as much-needed residential accommodation.
“The property is on a large site in a thriving residential neighbourhood, just six miles from Leeds and Huddersfield and a mile from the M621 and M62 motorways.
“It already has the necessary planning consent in place for residential redevelopment, so is an excellent development opportunity.”
Pugh was established 26 years ago, is the largest auctioneer outside of London and was acquired by property consultant Eddisons in 2016.
