Surge in demand for online workouts - Jemma’s Health Hub sees 50% rise in sign-ups
As the UK continues a life in lockdown, one of the most important things for Brits coping with the crisis is keeping their minds and bodies fit and healthy in this strange and stressful time.
Personal Trainer, Jemma Thomas is the Founder of Jemma’s Health Hub, an online community focussing on helping ‘hubbers’ feel supported and mentally stronger through regular fitness workouts.
Already, her community has experienced a surge in new and returning members over the past six weeks, particularly amongst parents wanting – and in some cases, needing, to get that quick 30 minute exercise fix before the children are awake. Comparatively year on year she has seen a 50% rise in members – showing that her business is one that is pandemic proof and a source of help and support in these difficult times.
Jemma says: “In such unchartered waters, no one knows what will happen next so it’s important to look after yourselves, keep positive and exercise every day to get those endorphins flowing. Everyone will be feeling anxious right now and that’s why it’s more important than ever to make time to let off some steam, focus on yourself for at least half an hour a day and find a way to calm down and keep happy.”
The Hub provides more than just a fitness workout. As well as doing half an hour of circuits, Jemma gives advice on calming techniques, and gives a reassuring voice at the time we need it most.
Jemma adds: “I promote exercise as therapy and truly believe that it has magical powers. I work out to improve and maintain my own mental health and my main aim is to help others see that it’s not all about weight or physical appearance, it’s about how good exercise can make you feel, particularly at such testing times.”
Jemma Thomas is a Personal Trainer and owner of Jemma’s Health Hub, established in 2015. She is Mum to two lively boys – Jude, 8, and Buddy, 4. She is based in Surrey.
