A superfood taste of Africa can now be delivered to you... from Salford

Salford’s ethically sourced superfood SACO is the latest business to join web shop SearchFresh in a bid to boost lockdown sales.

The family run business will offer a range of superfoods – ginger flakes, hibiscus flower, baobab powder and dried mango – that can be added to porridge, smoothies or infused as teas as a health boost.

SACO will be available on SearchFresh from this week and is available for local and national delivery.

Identifying the rising trend in shoppers looking for adventure and treats from their online purchases, start-up site ‘SearchFresh’ today invited small businesses looking to harness sales in lock down to join its high street web-shop.

With the Government’s timeline mapping out a potential further eight weeks before pubs, many shops and restaurants re-open, SearchFresh is offering ‘treat businesses’ such as alcohol sellers, health food producers and cake makers to join its site to help give their loyal customers a little of what they crave.

SearchFresh will also provide businesses that haven’t traditionally lent themselves to online sales with a platform to sell fresh produce.

With this in mind, SearchFresh are looking for butchers, bakeries, delis, garden centres, green grocers, florists, farm shops, independent alcohol outlets, cake makers or dairies to join their website for the opportunity to sell produce online – and help people to stay safe.

The site is designed for business who perhaps do not have their own website or for those who don’t want the expensive running costs of their own online platform.

Businesses can register for SearchFresh for free and there is no monthly fee. Businesses will only pay the 10 per cent commission fee following a shopper purchase.

Speaking about the site launch, Nick Wroe, co founder for SearchFresh, said: “The site will operate on a ‘no sale, no fee’ basis, so businesses have nothing to lose when signing up. We want to support our local high street shops to stay afloat in lock down and hope that post covid-19 we can help businesses to attract new customers and keep independents booming.”

Search Fresh is built to allow businesses to have their own page which they can share on across their own digital channels and with customers. The website is now live, businesses who wish to sign up can register their interest by completing the online form.

Current sellers include UK wider drink brand ‘Silk Road Spiced Rum’ and North West based grocer M. Hughes & Sons and bakery Violets Kitchen.

SACO – established in Salford in 2016. All produce is 100% natural and nutritious ingredients from Africa. The brand supports small-scale producers across the continent.
