Yorkshire Businesses To Consider Consolidating Comms After Lockdown

Unified communications platform, Pod developed by leading Leeds-based telecoms company, 24 Seven Cloud Communications is making it easier than ever for businesses to stay connected amidst a worldwide pandemic

Pod, a unified communications platform designed to keep businesses connected is calling for organisations in the region to consider their current telecoms operations in a bid to increase productivity, reduce unnecessary costs and safeguard for the future.

The current climate has forced thousands of businesses across the Yorkshire to adapt to a new way of working and communicating with employees, clients and suppliers. For many, this has meant abandoning offices and working remotely leaving existing telecoms services and hardware redundant and costly.

Metaswitch, the company and software that power Pod, was last month acquired by market leaders Microsoft. This move was an eye-opener for the telecoms industry and great news for Pod. Microsoft says; “Metaswitch’s complementary portfolio of ultra-high-performance, cloud-native communications software will expand our range of offerings available for the telecommunications industry.”

Pod, is run on 24 Seven Cloud Communications Tier 2 carrier network. It is a smart system that has been specially designed to allow businesses to stay connected anywhere at any time across all devices. Pod is seamlessly linked and integrated with your telephony platform, so any call to any department can always be answered whether at the office or working from home. Pod has the functionality to effectively work for a one-man-band, be tailored to complex set ups, or to be a market leading call centre solution.

The system has a powerful user experience, allowing easy connection and online networking via chat, call, text or video meetings. During a call with one person, Pod can enable a user to easily switch to video, share screens and invite others to join the conversation – all simply at the touch of a button, without putting the original call on hold.

Speaking on behalf of Pod, Managing Director of 24 Seven Cloud Communications, David Samuel said, “As the UK economy begins to ease back into businesses, there will be a number of challenges many will have to overcome. Communication both internally and externally will play a key role in the survival of many businesses post-lockdown and Pod is perfectly placed to help facilitate this on a large or small scale.

“In addition, looking at ways to reduce business running costs where possible will also be important – reviewing existing telecoms services and moving to a unified communications platform to reflect the new way of remote working will not only save money, but it will also offer a longer-term solution and protect a business should a future lockdown ever reoccur.”
