Kapex Construction celebrates three successful years of trading with best turnover figures to date

A North East construction company is celebrating three years of trading, with turnover rising by 277% at the end of this financial year.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne based Kapex Construction is part of The Morton Group, a wholly-owned family business, established in December 2016 by Group CEO Gary Morton and father Brian, following Gary’s return to the region after working on large-scale infrastructure projects in London.

Kapex Construction is the building delivery arm of The Morton Group and has seen turnover rising by 277% in year 3 (April 2019 – March 2020) and with a forecast increase of 250% in the next 12 months. Looking ahead, Kapex has a confirmed order book of around £40million.

The Morton Group consists of Kapex Construction, LOK Developments, and Regents Gate Homes, meaning that it can act as both developer and contractor on building projects.

Kapex Construction’s Business Development Director, Chris Nunn, joined in 2018, and the company has grown to almost 90 employees.

Chris Nunn said: “It’s fantastic to see that from a standing start our turnover has quadrupled and we’ve recorded tremendously impressive growth. What we have achieved over the last three years has been brilliant, and we’re just getting started.

“The expertise and experience of our team comes from many years of working in the construction industry, and their ambition is second to none. It’s been a privilege to deliver so many significant projects with such a strong team of talented individuals.

“With a confirmed forward order book of around £40m at Kapex Construction we’re looking forward to further growth in the next year and continued success with some interesting landmark projects lined up for the rest of 2020. It’s a very exciting time for us and now we have 3 years trading history, we are able to push forward and start delivering public sector work.”
