IoD appoints Michelle Allison as Greater Lincs chair

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed Michelle Allison as branch chair for Greater Lincolnshire.

Michelle is Chief Executive of the Education Business Partnership (EBP), a Lincoln-based company which works with business to connect young people to the world of work and skills development.

She succeeds Gary Headland, Chief Executive of Lincoln College Group, following his elevation to regional chair for the East Midlands.

In her new role, Michelle will be the voice of business for Greater Lincolnshire, working alongside a branch committee to promote the views of local directors within the IoD’s influential, national policy voice.

She brings more than 30 years’ experience across local and national government, the private and third sectors. Her work focuses on economic growth and development and the power of working in partnership to build stronger and more resilient communities.

Michelle said: “This is a challenging time for directors but the Greater Lincolnshire branch of the IoD continues to be well placed to support our business community.

“I will put members at the heart of what we do, building upon the excellent work already taking place to drive localised support and engagement with the Institute’s powerful policy voice and supporting members to be a force for good within our local communities.”

The IoD has secured vital support for directors during the Covid-19 pandemic, including financial assistance for wage bills and changes to insolvency rules.

The Institute aims to get closer to members and strengthen its East Midlands branch network through the appointment of ambassadors representing key sectors and geographies.

Gary Headland, IoD regional chair for the East Midlands, said: “Michelle’s wide-ranging experience makes her the ideal candidate to take our Greater Lincolnshire branch forward, as we explore new ways of building bridges between young people, education providers and the world of business.”
