600% growth for Manchester firm thanks to strong SEO strategy
Following a major investment in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), an online Bury firm, Painters World, has reported a 605% increase in sales in April (£282,000) compared to its previous highest record month (£40,000).
Recognising the growth potential in the online market for paint and materials, the company appointed leading Manchester digital agency MadeByShape, to improve search visibility and keyword rankings in a very competitive market.
“We knew what a challenge it would be to achieve our online objectives, especially given we were competing against some major online retailers. However, MadeByShape successfully managed to improve our ranking for vital keywords while ensuring our website continued to perform well, despite the massive increase in traffic – which doubled overnight. This has had a very positive effect on our business and sales throughout the coronavirus lockdown, with over 600% growth and a significant increase in website traffic,” said Rick Thompson, director at Painters World.
“Decorating materials are one of the industries which has boomed during lockdown, with paint manufacturers reporting sales increases of 400% during this period. Thanks to our investment in a strong SEO strategy delivered by a knowledgeable and hardworking team at MadeByShape, we have seen similar growth figures in our sales – 605% - at a time that for many, is proving to be an incredibly tough economic climate.”
In order to keep up with demand, the firm has taken the decision to move into a larger unit and to expand its team, which will prove invaluable as the country begins to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
