SharkNinja® Partners with WISE to Promote Women in Innovation

Premium home technology firm SharkNinja is today announcing its partnership with WISE, a body which campaigns for gender balance in science, technology and engineering, from classroom to boardroom.

SharkNinja is known for its innovation in the floorcare and kitchen appliance markets, designing and developing products to solve real life problems in the homes of their customers. The brand recognises the importance of having an inclusive team which represents the diversity in the global community; only then, will the most innovative and customer-centric products be brought to life. SharkNinja is therefore delighted to partner with WISE, as it means joining a movement of forward-thinking organisations which share its passion for fostering gender equality in STEM.

Lauren McMullan, General Manager, London comments: “At SharkNinja, a huge focus is placed on ensuring diversity right across the business. To support this from within, we run an internal programme called WeLead, which provides a global support network for women across the company, as well as education and entry avenues into STEM through joint ventures with universities and schools. By partnering with WISE, we hope to bolster our efforts in this area. We are passionate about inspiring girls and women to pursue STEM subjects and careers in technology and believe that working together with like-minded organisations is the best way to achieving this.”

Matthew Broadway, SharkNinja European President comments: “Having talented engineers is imperative to the success and future of our business, so joining WISE was a natural step for us. We are committed to raising awareness amongst young people of the incredible career opportunities in STEM, both at SharkNinja and beyond. The network and resources available through WISE will help us achieve this, as we set to progress initiatives which support the recruitment, retention and progression of women in STEM.”

Helen Wollaston CEO, WISE adds: “We’re thrilled to welcome SharkNinja to WISE, showing their commitment to gender balance. At a time when Technology is critical to the economy, we need more diverse voices to accelerate innovation and creativity. WISE members are the lifeblood of the campaign, leading by example, sharing insights and collaborating to make real, sustainable change happen. We make faster progress together, and look forward to working with SharkNinja as part of our powerful network.”
