North East dental practice invests more than £50k in new technology

A North East dental practice has announced that it is investing more than 50k in new equipment and technology.

Queensway Dental has announced the resumption of general dentistry, ensuring patient safety with an investment over £50k in new equipment, technology and procedures.

Throughout lockdown, a team of dentists have been working at sites in Billingham and Jesmond providing urgent care for patients and helping those with emergency symptoms in the nearby community.

Following government guidelines, the dental clinic can now welcome back all patients for comprehensive dental care.

A percentage of the investment has been spent on new technology, enabling dentists to carry out virtual consultations, thereby reducing the overall number of patients in the practice at one time.

Queensway Dental’s “Contactless Consultations” take place online and allow new clients to discuss recommended treatment options with a dentist from home.

Dr Will Carter, from Queensway Dental, commented: “We have invested greatly in protocols and procedures to enable us to maintain the highest standard of safety for our patients and employees throughout lockdown.

“We’re delighted to now be in the position to welcome back our team to be able to see more patients, working hard to prioritise those in pain or discomfort.

“New technology means we can now also offer virtual consultations enabling patients to start their journey from the comfort of their own home whilst gaining an understanding of costs and treatment plans.

“Ultimately, this new way of starting the patient journey will reduce the amount of footfall in the practice at any one time.”
