£4.1m York apartment scheme reaches new heights

A new multi-million pound residential development scheme in the centre of York has topped out this week.

National contractor Tolent has reached the top of the new £4.1m development just outside the city walls on Redeness Street.

Situated on the site of a former retail outlet, the four-storey development comprises a mix of 32 one and two bedrooms apartments, with views of York Minster.

Regional director for Tolent, John Currie, commented: “Walking around the site… it was great to see the progress made so far, especially given the challenges we’ve all faced over the past few months.

“Work to construct the roof will start next week and working closely with the Modernistiq team, we’ll be delivering some fantastic show flats that will help promote the high quality homes being delivered here.”

Lucinda Black, head of design and sales at Modernistiq, added: “Watching the development really begin to take shape is incredibly exciting for all of us involved. Our ambition was to not only create high specification homes, but to foster a real sense of community and liveability.

“With the addition of both communal and private roof terraces alongside being a stone’s throw away from all of York’s city centre amenities, we’re confident of attracting interest both locally and internationally and undoubtedly enhancing the local area.”
