Bradford based manufacturer invests £12m to ramp up production of face masks.

Bradford - based manufacturing and distribution company, Multibrands International has ramped up production of its Panodyne PPE range in response to the UK’s most recent announcement regarding face coverings.

On the 14th of July 2020, the UK Government announced that face coverings will become compulsory in all shops and supermarkets from 24th July 2020. Failure to do so could result in a £100 fine.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Multibrands International has expanded production of its Panodyne range to better support those on the frontline, including the NHS and care home workers.

Since Panodyne launched in 2006, it has become a trusted UK supplier of high-quality PPE equipment, including certified, medical-grade Type I and Type II R facemasks that are fully tested to the highest European standards, including EN14683.

Since mid-May the public has been advised to wear face coverings within crowded public spaces, where social distancing measures can be difficult to adhere to and compulsory on public transport since 15 June. Citizens seen without face masks from 24 July could face fines of up to £100. Children under the age of 11, and those with certain disabilities will be exempt.

Headquartered in Bradford, Multibrands International was established in 1998 manufacturing and supplying a range of premium quality, own-brand, everyday FMCG consumer essentials including personal hygiene, and advanced LED household lighting solutions to leading wholesalers and independent buying groups worldwide. The company currently employs over 50 members of staff with additional administration and production facilities in India and China.

Director at Multibrands International, Rizwana Hussain comments: “Face masks are essential to curb the spread of Coronavirus, that is why, following the government’s announcement we have ramped up the production of our Panodyne range again to help the UK’s supply of PPE equipment and support not just those on the frontline, but the public also.

“With lockdown measures easing, there is a real anxiety that we could face a second spike, if we don’t take protection and hygiene seriously to protect not just ourselves, but those around us. We have invested heavily in all the products in our Panodyne range to ensure it is manufactured to the highest quality for both professional and daily use. Our face masks are manufactured from the highest quality materials and fit securely, yet comfortably providing up to 98% protection against harmful bacteria.”
