Voneus ramps up business-to-business focus with new corporate appointments

Voneus, the rural community broadband specialist, today announced two key appointments to boost the company’s focus on the business-to-business market. Joining as business development managers are Simon Tucker, who will oversee corporate and commercial organisations, and Robin Craven-Griffiths, who will focus on the UK leisure industry.

Tucker, who is based in South Wales, will be responsible for growing Voneus’ commercial offering, which includes the provision of specialist network infrastructures and managed services to large, complex businesses situated in remote locations. His particular focus will be on the agribusiness, construction, renewables, oil & gas, and aerospace sectors, as well as on rural business and industrial parks. He joins Voneus from the UK and Irish media company Wireless Group, where he headed up business development, targeting a diverse range of commercial organisations. He has more than 20 years of experience in sales and business development roles.

Craven-Griffiths, based in North Yorkshire, will specialise in developing bespoke solutions for leisure organisations – holiday parks, hospitality businesses, and other attractions based in rural UK locations – to enable them to provide reliable, Superfast broadband to their many visitors. He joins the company following a six-year stint in consultancy, both in the telecoms and the solar energy sectors. He previously served in the British Army.

Where these companies are based shouldn’t be a hindrance to their ability to compete but, all too often, it is – simply because of a lack of decent telecoms options,” said Sue Barnes, chief commercial officer, Voneus. “Simon and Robin’s combined experience – together with Voneus’ unwavering focus on building bespoke networks for hard-to-reach locations – will be key as we attempt to redress this imbalance, by rolling out business-grade networking services to rural-based organisations.
