Work starts on £8m Northumberland living complex
Work has started on site on a new £8m living complex for over 55s in Northumberland.
The project, Rosebrough Court in Cramlington, will be delivered by contractor Tolent on behalf of Bernicia, and will create 60 new homes for rent and shared ownership.
Rosebrough Court will provide a variety of homes that comprises 48 self-contained apartments, four Tyneside flats and eight bungalows.
The Cramlington project, which has gained grant support from Homes England, is due to finish in late Summer 2021.
Michael Farr, Bernicia’s executive director of assets and growth, commented: “This high quality Bernicia development is specifically designed with the long-term living needs of people aged over 55 in mind.
“It will provide the security of a great home in a close-knit community, with access to superb retail facilities in Cramlington just a short walk away and excellent transport links to Newcastle.
“The scheme is also providing a valuable boost to the local economy with skilled full-time construction jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.”
Chris Price, regional director for Tolent, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Bernicia again to deliver a scheme that we know is going to make a real difference.
“As well as our commitment to delivering a high quality construction project, our community work also comes with a strong commitment to ensure we leave a lasting legacy and we look forward to building some great relationships with those who live and work in the area.”
