Online wine delivery service to launch bricks and mortar store
A London restaurant which pivoted to a wine delivery service during the lockdown is opening a high-street store following national demand for its service.
The owners of Top Cuvée, a restaurant in the Seven Sisters area, launched Shop Cuvée – an online wine store – after being forced to close its doors in March.
Initially designed to provide cupboard essentials and natural wine to its local community by bicycle, the service received orders from across the UK during lockdown.
In response, the company’s co-founders are opening a physical shop on Blackstock Road – 100 yards away from the restaurant – to better facilitate national, next day delivery and its monthly subscription programme.
Describing its offering as a ‘no-nonsense, relatable and fun’ approach to natural wine, Shop Cuvée – which opens in September – will sell hundreds of wines from around the world, as well as a selection of snacks and charcuterie to complement its products.
Co-founder Brodie Meah commented: ’‘If you told me in March that not only would Top Cuvee come back better than ever, but that we would have provided thousands of natural wines to London, launched a nationwide delivery service and that we will open a permanent shop, I’d have thought you were having me on.
“We cannot begin to thank our customers enough – the shop is for them. Come in, say hello; we couldn’t have done it without you.
“As well as our locals, the shop will ensure we keep on reaching our customers around the rest of the UK – the support and demand has been just incredible.’’
