30 new jobs created at £2.8m bowling complex in York
A leading bowling operator has completed the development of a new £2.8m bowling centre in Huntington which will create 30 new jobs.
Hollywood Bowl’s new 28,000 sq ft entertainment venue, at the York Stadium leisure complex, will have vacancies ranging from bar staff through to managerial positions.
The centre hosts 24 bowling lanes and features American-style décor, with four VIP lanes available for hire. An American-style bar and diner will serve food and drink options, while the centre’s amusement offering will include retro computer games and pool tables.
The venue will introduce enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures to ensure guests can enjoy the space safely.
Booking slots will be used to control the centre’s capacity, with only alternate bowling lanes in use. Amusement machines as well as bar and dining seating will be spaced out, with signage visible throughout the venue, to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.
Stephen Burns, CEO of Hollywood Bowl Group, said: “As the UK’s leading ten-pin bowling operator we are committed to providing Covid-secure, safe and great value entertainment for all to enjoy, and showing that the fun doesn’t stop at the lanes.
“We’ve received great feedback from our first York customers who have been enjoying the full Hollywood Bowl experience at this latest-generation centre.
“The combination of our cutting edge technology, fully-stocked American bar and Diner and advanced amusement area cements our new, York centre, as a total entertainment complex, and we look forward to dazzling customers for years to come whilst still ensuring total safety.”
