Top Live Event Producer Takes Centre Stage at The DriveINSIDE Theatre

The DriveINSIDE Theatre has announced that top UK theatre and live music event producer, Peter Bird, is to join the creative team.

Peter Bird has a long track record of working as a show director and live music producer and specialises in designing and overseeing detailed aspects of live shows and ensuring the productions have the maximum possible ‘wow’ factor.

Paul Levin, Director of Beyond Theatre, the company responsible for The DriveINSIDE Theatre, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Peter has agreed to join The DriveINSIDE Theatre team. He is one of the most exciting live event producers in the UK and his expertise will ensure we can really maximise this exciting new venue to deliver fantastic immersive live theatre and music events, while ensuring the audience, cast and crew are safe from any risks associated with COVID-19.”

Peter developed the concept and logo for the Deep Purple global tour, a new concert with a reformed Eurythmics with Michael Kamen, and has 20 years of touring experience with the likes of Jools Holland, Girls Aloud and Wet Wet Wet.

He has overseen events on a huge scale, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu at Trafalgar Square London, Julian Lloyd Webber at Lords Cricket Ground and Michael Nyman and 110 players of the Royal Philharmonia at the Royal Festival Hall.

Peter’s impressive track record in live events also includes the interval performance at the Baku Eurovision Song Contest and pre-production of the official Centenary Commemoration of the First World War in August 2014.

“Peter’s experience of such a vast range of different types of live shows and events, means we will be able to deliver truly world-class productions in The DriveINSIDE Theatre and we can’t wait to get started!” added Paul.

The DriveINSIDE Theatre, based in central Manchester, is COVID compliant and is the world’s first theatre that you drive inside. It provides an immersive experience for 800 people and seating for every audience member. Simply drive in, get out of the car on the driver’s side and take your seats, which are at the side of your vehicle. Unlike other drive in venues, this one is covered by Europe’s largest megatent, so no need to worry about that famous Manchester rain - the show will go on!
