Mersey Regeneration commits to using local suppliers hit by Covid-19 lockdown

Emerging Liverpool housing developer, Mersey Regeneration, says it is more important than ever to support local suppliers hit hard by the Covid-19 lockdown.

The company which has delivered a series of small housing schemes in north Liverpool and is currently building a family housing development for the social landlord, Onward Homes, say they will use local suppliers and local trades people only to help protect the city’s economy.

Gerard Heffey, co-founder and managing director at Mersey Regeneration, said:

“Since we started developing residential properties in Liverpool, we have always been committed to using a local workforce and local suppliers. The impact of Covid-19 on local businesses means this is now more important than ever. As an emerging developer committed to building quality homes in the city, we have a duty to help the city’s economy too. That is why we are reaffirming our commitment to using local suppliers only.

It is so important that the city stands together to beat the effects of the recent pandemic and this means supporting other local businesses as much as we can.

We have a number of projects on the horizon and we’re looking forward to getting stuck into delivering those. The pandemic impacted on our plans for the year but we’re now back on site and building quality housing developments. The second half of 2020 is going to be very busy for us.“

Mersey Regeneration commenced work on the Foundation Close residential development in Kirkdale this week and have plans to start work on the construction of a further 40 affordable homes in the city later in the year.
