Telegraph Hotel Coventry makes senior appointment

A new hotel opening in Coventry has made a key appointment to its senior team. The Telegraph Hotel – created in the Mid-century former headquarters of the city’s newspaper – which will be operated by Bespoke Hotels, the largest independent hotel company in the UK, is set to open its doors later this year.

Now the hotel has appointed a Sales and Marketing Manager as it begins the countdown to opening in late autumn.

Kieran Westlake, who is Coventry born and bred, will be bringing his knowledge and experience of the city and the industry to the position to promote the Telegraph Hotel, including its accommodation, conference and events facilities.

He will be the main point of contact for all corporate relationships and agents showcasing the 88 bedrooms, which includes large doubles, twins and split-level suites.

The Telegraph’s most luxurious bedroom is the Lord Iliffe Suite – which features its very own hot tub and terrace. There is also the spectacular Winter Garden – which is made up of 11 bedrooms overlooking a private, glazed indoor terrace only accessible from these rooms.

Kieran said: “The hotel is excellent news for the city as it brings something new and unique, with a strong emphasis on Mid-century design. It’s something we have never seen before in Coventry.

“This is exactly what drew me to the role at the Telegraph Hotel as it is a very exciting new project which will attract custom locally, regionally and nationally and will bring people to the city who otherwise might not visit.

“Having the chance to be a part of the starting team for the opening of a hotel and building up the business doesn’t happen all the time, so this is a very special opportunity. “My job is to promote the hotel for accommodation, conferences and events and there are some amazing rooms and facilities of various sizes to cater for all kinds of events.”

The Telegraph Hotel features a rooftop bar, Forme & Chase - the all-day bar and restaurant dining experience, and meeting and conference facilities such as Editors, which can accommodate up to 160 alongside the two private rooms – the Boardroom and Directors – which can each accommodate up to 12 people for small meetings and dinners.

Kieran added: “I have worked with people in the city for a number of years, so I have great relationships already and I look forward to continuing those within my new role here. “This is an exciting time for the city and the region with major events such as City of Culture next year and then the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, so the hotel could not be arriving at a more perfect time.”

Amy Windsor, General Manager of the Telegraph Hotel, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Kieran to the Telegraph Hotel team.

“His experience, talent and relationships throughout the region make him an excellent addition to help put the hotel on the map.

“The formation of the senior team is just another exciting step in the creation of the hotel and shows that we are getting closer to the grand opening of what is going to be a fantastic venue for all.”
