Planning permission granted for 250 County Durham homes
A national development consultancy has secured planning permission for 250 new homes in County Durham.
Lichfields has secured the permission from Durham County Council on behalf of Newcastle housebuilder Bellway Homes.
The development, in Wingate, will consist of 250 homes, with a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed properties.
Bellway has also agreed to contribute more than £1m to support local community infrastructure, including £715,540 towards the village primary school and a further £369k for recreation and sporting facilities.
Lichfields’ associate director, Jennifer Heron said: “We are delighted to have secured permission for this scheme on behalf of Bellway.
“The development offers a mix of house types and sizes and will meet the housing needs of many different groups in the community.
“It will also support a range of economic benefits, including the generation of construction jobs, support to local businesses, increased local expenditure in the area and revenue to the council through increased Council Tax receipts and relevant new Homes Bonus payments.”
