Leeds renewable energy firm powers up with acquisition in "major" expansion plan
A Leeds renewable energy company has announced its acquisition of an energy saving technology firm as part of a “major” expansion plan.
Planet-U Energy has confirmed its acquisition of Heatsource Direct, provider of renewable and sustainable energy saving technology for commercial and industrial property throughout the UK.
The acquisition is part of a “major” expansion plan, moving to supplying energy contracts to clients outside of the UK.
This is expected to help the company hit £25m turnover within the next 18 months.
Tom Thurling, managing director of Heatsource Direct, commented: “Together we intend to continue to invest in the renewable market by combining our knowledge and client acquisition strategies to develop our offering further.
“Both businesses have been working together for some time and Planet-U Energy has a well-established brand and impressive growth story, so we are pleased to be a part of such an entrepreneurial firm.”
Grant Nicholson, CEO of Planet-U Energy, said: “The growth of the company exemplifies the significance for businesses to act now and reduce their carbon footprint.
“We are bucking the renewable revolution to ensure that every corporation is provided with a full turn-key solution for a greener planet, while saving money, so it is a win-win for all.”
