Not a Box Launches Design Practice in Knutsford
A highly acclaimed architectural designer Heather Bennani, has joined forces with project manager daughter Nadine Bennani to open Not a Box, a bespoke high street design practice.
Whilst owning and running a highly successful architectural design studio based on The Downs in Altrincham, Heather built up a much-coveted reputation as a leading hotel designer, architecturally redefining and designing spaces and furnishings, as well as working with individual home owners to create luxurious, harmonious surroundings for all to enjoy.
Not a Box will be supporting home owners and interior designers in redesigning and enhancing spaces within their homes and commercial spaces, as well as offering the latest in contemporary interiors and bespoke finishes. The team will be offering a fusion of interconnecting styles, culminating in specific collections of cabinetry, steel doors and windows, lighting and interesting finishes for floors and walls with only the best porcelain tiles and bespoke artisan finishes - all designed, created and installed to work together or individually from their design studio.
Heather explains: “I have always been passionate about utilising a home to its best potential, and I firmly believe in the ergonomics of space, and making it work for the whole family or whoever it is being designed for. I am also a great believer in personalisation, whether through creating unique wall art with the latest metals or having a bespoke crittall door installation designed for a specific room. Not a box was born out of a need for sophisticated and adaptable architectural elements for the home. To complement this, we will be releasing bespoke collections of furniture.
“I have designed many pieces of furniture, lighting and Signature finishes throughout my long career, for both hospitality and private residences. Not a Box embodies my desire to use that creativity and knowledge to bring together a collection of architectural products, creating a fusion of interconnecting structural elements for the home that can either be used individually or collectively by our clients. My style has always been a fusion between Oriental Artisan and contemporary design resulting in a chic collection of tailored elements with can adapt to specific spaces within the home, such as the dividing of open plan spaces with an ergonomic solution made from different mediums such as steel.”
Continuing Heather says: “I am thrilled to have Nadine as my very able business partner. Her impressive corporate finance and project management background and skillset will be a huge asset to private clients for whom we are undertaking larger scale redevelopments as well as our commercial clients.”
Not a Box has invested in a joinery workshop in Bollington to produce their own furniture, lighting and accessory collections, as well as bringing bespoke designs to life.
