Specialist medical supply company expands into more space close to London airport hub
US-owned Globus Medical has relocated its UK team from Sheffield to offices close to London Heathrow to provide additional space for a growing team and a more central location for travel to Europe and to its corporate head offices in Philadelphia.
Global is one of the fastest growing spine companies in the UK focused on the design, development, and commercialisation of products that enable surgeons to promote healing in patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
The move into 4,160 sq ft in Orbit Southern’s Heathrow Boulevard Two follows an increase in demand from the NHS and private sector for improved outcomes for patients with a focus on robotic spine surgery to advance surgical techniques.
Heathrow Boulevard is a mature landscaped business park with excellent access to Heathrow, the M4, M25 and central London.
Six permanent Globus staff are now based there, but the space will also accommodate visits from a field sales force of 45 sales representatives who will be coming in for training and internal meetings.
Commenting on the move, Ruvindra De Alwis, Managing Director for Globus UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted with the new offices. They are in a very convenient location with great transport links locally, regionally and internationally. What also appealed was the abundance of natural light which is an ideal environment in which to train leading surgeons and hospital staff who come into us on a regular basis.
“We are very proud of our excellent growth in recent years and these prestigious offices now underline those achievements and will match current and future expansion needs. We are grateful for all the help on the ground from Orbit’s team who made the move as smooth as possible.”
Benn Dickinson from Orbit Southern said: “It was great to work with Ruvindra and the Globus team to find a property to meet the company’s practical travel and expansion needs and also reflect its position as a fast-growing supplier of choice in its field.”
