Downing builds on family legacy at Eden Square

Developer Downing has unveiled six new luxury apartments in the heart of Liverpool’s city centre.

Downing has transformed the first floor of its Eden Square West development, on Hatton Garden, into a mixture of one and two-bedroom units.

The redevelopment is being led by Bay Downing, son of the company’s founder and owner George Downing. Bay is continuing his father’s legacy at Eden Square, which Downing built in 2008 as part of a £15.7 million development, including the construction of the deepest underground car park in Liverpool city centre.

With floor to ceiling glazing, the apartments offer spacious mezzanine layouts with open plan living and kitchen space, a utility room and bathroom. All of the two-bedroom apartments feature an ensuite bathroom.

Spanish porcelanosa flooring has been fitted throughout the suites, which include bespoke fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, designer bathroom furniture and electric heating systems. The apartments are also available part or fully furnished with the highest quality furnishings.

Amenities include a contemporary inner courtyard garden, bicycle storage, secure fob access and 24-hour CCTV.

Eden Square, located on the site of the former Hatton Garden Fire Station, comprises two visually striking towers featuring a total of 123 residential apartments.

The developer has also converted the ground floor of the building into two flexi-office suites and a private gym.

Downing’s flexi-office package features inclusive monthly rents, flexibility on duration to suit each customer’s business plan, along with a simplified and standard, short form of lease - eliminating an often expensive and lengthy legal process and allowing early occupation.

Both suites have high specification finishes and deliver budgetary certainty through a fixed all-inclusive monthly cost – which covers service charges, electricity, building insurance and rates, if required. Each also offers its own access entrance and frontage, allowing businesses the ability to personalise the exterior with their own branding and signage.

Eden Square’s redevelopment has been led by Bay Downing, son of the company’s founder George Downing.

Bay said: “Eden Square is a unique building, ideally situated just a stone’s throw away from the city’s thriving business district and lively retail and leisure scene. It offers a fabulous lifestyle opportunity that is second to none in the city. We’ve already received a huge amount of interest for the apartments, which have been carefully designed to offer calm, light filled and contemporary living spaces overlooking a peaceful inner courtyard.

“The transformation of the first and ground floor levels of Eden Square signifies the continued investment that Downing is injecting into our existing residential and commercial portfolios, to ensure that we are providing the highest-quality experience for all of our tenants.”
