A first look at Sheffield city centre living with Sky-House Co
NEW images have been released giving a first glimpse of how back-to-back living will look when it comes to Sheffield city centre.
A Pre-App document has been prepared for Sheffield Council by CODA Planning on behalf of Sky-House Co, in support of the redevelopment of land on Egerton Street, between Devonshire Green and Charter Row.
Sky-House Co is the developer behind the hugely successful 21st century take on traditional back-to-back living, which has already proved a hit at Waverley and is also coming to Oughtibridge and Stocksbridge in the coming months.
The Egerton Street site, currently occupied by the now vacant former Stokes Tiles warehouse will, subject to Sheffield Council approval, see the development 50 properties, including 30 three and four bedroom Sky-House homes and 20 one bedroom apartments, along with two commercial units.
The Sky-House version of the Victorian back-to-back house, created by the award-winning architects at Sheffield’s CODA Studios, includes such features as bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, open plan kitchen/diners and a private roof gardens accessed from a private study area.
Outside there is courtyard parking, communal play areas and private patios for each home owner.
Sky-House Co was founded by CODA chairman David Cross and property developer Philip Prince of Broadfield Holdings.
“We are currently engaged in extremely positive talks with Sheffield Council and look forward to submitting a final planning application for their approval before the end of the year,” said David.
“the first artists’ impressions have been extremely well received on social media and reinforces our belief that Sky-House is a great model or urban living, with an architectural style that captures the imagination.
“Having seen the first phase of our Waverley development completely sold out, we have then been overwhelmed by the interest in our Oughtibridge site to the north of Sheffield.
“Egerton Street will bring Sky-House right to the heart of city living and would be an ideal location to add to the growing number of residential schemes in Sheffield city centre.
“This is a project that will deliver a true family housing development and one that could bring real sense of regeneration too.”
“The Sky-House aim is to provide affordable beautiful and unusual homes for the first time buyer and families and we believe that is exactly what we are achieving.”
