Local Home Builder supports local Royal British Legion branches ahead of Armistice Day

Local Home Builder, Barratt Homes Yorkshire West, is supporting the Royal British Legion (RBL) this Armistice Day by donating £2,200 shared across 11 RBL branches across the region. The donation comes as the Legion calls for support for its annual Poppy Appeal.

To mark Armistice Day on the 11th November, and to say thank you to the volunteers of the branches across the region for their dedication and continuous hard work, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has donated £200 to 11 of the regions branches. With developments across West and South Yorkshire, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West hopes the donation will aid the organisation in continuing its vital work in providing expert advice and guidance, aiding the recovery and rehabilitation of ex-service men and women.

Benefiting from the donation is the Churchfield branch in Barnsley, the Frecheville and Hallamshire branches in Sheffield, the Spenborough branch in Bradford, the Dinnington, Swinton and Rotherham branches in Rotherham, the Wakefield branch, the Huddersfield branch and the Morley and Pudsey branches in Leeds.

On top of the donation, the Home Builder continuously supports the armed forces with its bespoke recruitment initiative designed to employ and retrain ex-service people in the housing market. The Armed Forces Transition Programme provides training and support needed to ex-Armed Forces personnel who are interested in becoming a qualified Assistant Site Manager.

The Home Builder also runs an Armed Forces Deposit Contribution scheme which is in place to assist military servicemen and women with their home purchase by offering a 5% deposit contribution, up to £15,000. The scheme can be taken advantage of at all Barratt Development sites (including David Wilson Homes developments).

Speaking on the donation, Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Homes Yorkshire West, said: “We’re always looking for opportunities to support our local veterans and donating to the Royal British Legion is one of the best ways to do so. Through our Armed Forces recruitment initiative we’ve seen first-hand some of the vital work done by organisations like the Royal British Legion so we’re delighted to be supporting them this Armistice Day”.
