Yorkshire golf travel firm on the green with £1.5m funding
A Yorkshire travel company has announced that it has received £1.5m in funding to support its plans to ‘get back to normal’.
Fairway International Travel (FIT), based in Halifax, has secured the funding from alternative finance provider ThinCats as it aims to maximise its offering through 2021.
The company specialises in providing travel for professional golfers on tours such as PGA and the European Challenge.
The FIT management team has said that they are “keen” to pursue a number of development opportunities.
Bill Tannahill, CEO of FIT, commented: “We are really keen to get back to normal with providing our specialist sport travel services – 2021 will be all the more exciting and offers us the opportunity to support our clients even more closely, as we work together with our partners to move on from the challenges of 2020.
“ThinCats took the time to properly understand our offering and plans for the future, and we are looking forward to putting the funding to good use.”
David Parr, director of regional business development at ThinCats, added: “FIT is a great example of the mid-sized SMEs that ThinCats specialises in funding.
“They provide a well-respected service to the pro-golfing sector, and it has been a pleasure to work with their knowledgeable and experienced team. We wish them all the best with the 2021 season.”
