Leeds consultant wins contract for North Wales' "most significant" development

A Leeds civil engineering practice has announced that it has won a contract for the “most significant” strategic development in North Wales.

JPG Group, a structural and civil engineering practice, has been appointed to provide consultancy services on the second phase of enabling works for The Airfields in Deeside.

In the Phase 1 enabling works, JPG advised on the spinal road extension to enable residential development and off-site infrastructure including roadside amenity use.

Moving forward after its appointment to the Phase 2 enabling works, JPG is advising on further works to support more residential and commercial development, given the site’s proximity to Junction 16 of the M56.

Chris Harding, managing director at JPG Group, commented: “The site is the former RAF Sealand South Camp which when we first became involved had immediate flood threats and very minimal access to existing key infrastructure such as power and drainage.

“As the project’s lead consultant our role has been critical in advising the client on viability and economic development potential.

“We are serving the project with experts from our teams in Strategic Land, Infrastructure and Geo-Environmental Engineering.

“We are both designing the infrastructure and simultaneously identifying best development potential for interested parties.”
