New Year 2021 start for latest Kelham Island apartment scheme

WORK will begin in January on a major new apartment development in the thriving Kelham Island area of Sheffield.

Planning permission for the Cotton Mill Row development, which will feature 90 apartments in a four storey building, was given by Sheffield City Council and work is now well under way on clearing the area ready for building work to begin in the new year.

The scheme is being taken forward by R S Sabkha Construction and Developments (RSS).

“Cotton Mill Row follows on from our highly successful and recently completed 49 apartment Kelham Gate project,” said director Raad Sabkha.

“Both Kelham Gate and Cotton Mill Row are in the heart of the increasingly popular former industrial heartland of the city.

“Aimed primarily at the young professional market, they are the sort of developments that will be perfect for anybody wanting to live within easy access of the city centre.”

“Having developed such an outstanding scheme at Kelham Gate, we are very pleased once again to be working with the award-winning team at CODA Architecture.”

CODA Managing Director Matt Bowker commented: “We have worked on many developments in Kelham Island and around Shalesmoor and Neepsend and we are confident that Cotton Mill Row will prove to be as successful as our earlier projects.

“CODA Studios is, of course, based in Kelham island and we have been passionate supporters of the regeneration of this historic part of Sheffield for many years now.

“The design our team drew up for this site is excellent and very much in keeping with the ambience of surrounding area and we can’t wait to see the next step taken in the Kelham Island success story.”

Matt Catharell, Construction Director at Broadfield Project Management Ltd said: “We are very proud to be delivering this prestigious project in Kelham Island for our client and looking forward to another successful development with RSS.

“This will complete Broadfield’s tenth major development in Kelham Island over the recent years.”
