Central Networks and Technologies awarded multi-year contract by housing association

IT service and support provider, Central Networks and Technologies, has won a substantial contract by Welsh housing provider and social enterprise, Bron Afon, following a competitive tender process.

With an existing long-standing relationship, Central was re-contracted by the organisation to provide a managed service — including first, second, and third line support. A member of the engineering team will also be working full-time at Bron Afon’s head office in Cwmbran, Wales.

The housing association is set to also receive multiple engineering days throughout the year, during which Central’s senior experts will design, plan, and implement all of the provider’s infrastructure projects.

Ian Taylor, head of ICT at Bron Afon, said: “Central’s engineers are amongst the best I have ever worked with. They really excel at what they do, and genuinely care about our organisation. Nothing is too much trouble for them – they are always willing to provide unbiased advice and options.”

Lee Walsh, ICT operations and development manager at Bron Afon, added: “Our partnership aims to provide added value, and already we have estimated that the solution will save us over £5,700 in the next three years in service desk and end-user time. This offering enhances productivity and provides more flexibility outside of operating hours.”

Commenting further on the project, Mike Dunleavy, client director at Central Networks and Technologies, said: “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our relationship with Bron Afon. The work undertaken by the Central engineering team and the relationship we’ve developed with this organisation is underlined by our shared values and how much we care about helping others.”

Central has supported hundreds of housing providers with their IT needs, and has recently announced a contract win with Bradford-headquartered Horton Housing – further cementing its expertise in this sector.
