Work completed on Hull’s £22m residential development

It is a special development in Hull’s residential regeneration which takes city centre living to another level and after four years under construction, The Glass House in Queen’s Gardens is complete.

Residents are moving in to the apartments and penthouses which will bring at least two-hundred and fifty people to live in the city centre.

Iguana Developments is breathing new life into the city centre with £42m invested in its three developments.

The firm sets the bar high with outstanding residents’ amenities including; in-house gym and cinema, private dining, co-working space and large atrium with concierge service. Now other developers around the UK follow in their footsteps.

The firm’s Managing Director, Jason Coleman says:

“We are thrilled The Glass House is now ready for residents to move in. The apartments and penthouses appeal to young professionals and down-sizers, as well as a those who’ve purchased a holiday home - in any case, the ease of city living is on the list of priorities.

“We have delayed the grand opening event until after lockdown, however, viewings are available by private appointment, with My Agent who is managing the sales. We also welcome anyone who would like a tour of the development to get in touch.

“We stripped the original building back to its shell and now know it would have been easier to demolish and start again as it has gone over budget and over time. Nevertheless, the delay hasn’t stopped buyers who have been keen to purchase throughout the year.

“As a developer our aim is to stand out from the crowd, not just to build homes but to create a lifestyle - if it’s good enough for Kingston upon Thames then it’s good enough for Kingston upon Hull.

“We are pleased to be able to provide a home for a number of first time buyers who have used the Government Help to Buy Scheme to get on the property ladder.

“Local businesses will also benefit as more people move in to the area.”

Jason was inspired to invest in Hull following City of Culture and hopes the success of Iguana Developments inspires private investors to continue putting money into the area.

The Glass House is a large building which includes ninety-four apartments, in five elevator cores. Floors one to three has apartments and four to five are duplex penthouses. The ground floor to the rear of the building has private parking for 117 vehicles.

All apartments are south-facing and over-look the splendid Queen’s Gardens park frontage which is also receiving a £4.3m revamp.

Jason adds:

“Complemented by work from commercial developers, Hull’s city centre is getting a face-lift. It’s an affordable city to live and work and I am confident we will continue to attract young professionals who will make Hull their home for life.”

Prices for the high-spec one, two, three and four bedroom homes range from £140,000 to £430,000.
