Christmas comes early for two charities thanks to local manufacturer

Award-winning local manufacturer, The Zeus Group, is spreading cheer this year by awarding two Birmingham charities with generous donations, just in time for Christmas. Pledging 100% of December’s profits raised by sales of its Cerberus range to Birmingham Dogs Home and 1,000 bottles of hand sanitiser to homeless charity, St. Basils, The Zeus Group is hoping to make a tough year a little brighter for the two causes.

The Zeus Group’s contributions will guarantee both a hearty Christmas Dinner for more than 150 homeless pups, which are housed in the Dogs Home’s West Midlands-based centres, and provide essential PPE to staff and residents who work and reside in St Basils’ accommodation sites in Birmingham.

Following a difficult 2020 for the third sector, both charities have experienced a steep decline in donations; after hearing of the difficulties faced by the duo, The Zeus Group immediately offered to help with covering costs to ensure both charities were able to remain fully operational. After hearing that St Basils were facing a shortage of PPE supplies, the manufacturer utilised its in-house production facilities to produce 1,000 bottles of hand sanitiser and joined forces with LoveBrum to distribute its donation to the charity, which looks after over 500 homeless youth across the West Midlands.

Delighted with the goodwill gesture, Sian Dhillon, Community Manager of St. Basils commented:

“We are thrilled to receive this very generous donation of hand sanitisers from Zeus Laboratories. As is the case for many charities, Covid has had a huge impact on our ability to fundraise and therefore comprised our ability to source much-needed PPE items, which are now more important than ever as we continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our young people. Thank you so much to the Zeus team for their generosity and for helping us all keep safe!”

The Zeus Group’s Managing Director, Tim Allinson, also added:

“We are more than proud to be teaming up with St. Basils this Christmas, to help support those most in need at this difficult time of year. We are committed to supporting local causes all year round and were so moved by the issues raised by the charity that we knew we wanted to help in any way possible.

The hand sanitiser is tested in our in-house laboratory facilities against a database of over 40,000 contaminants and is completely batch traceable, offering complete peace of mind to those using it.“

As well as providing St Basils with a sizeable supply of hand sanitiser, The Zeus Group is set to donate 100% of profits raised by the sale of its aptly named Cerberus range this December to Birmingham Dogs Home in order to prevent any of its dogs from going hungry over the festive season.

Speaking on behalf of Birmingham Dogs Home, Marketing Officer Rachel Frost commented:

“We will have over 150 dogs to feed on Christmas Day this year and after the ‘ruff’ year that we have experienced during 2020, we would like to thank The Zeus Group for donating to our dogs and giving them a Christmas Dinner that they deserve. Their generosity is felt throughout our charity and we will ensure our dogs get a hearty festive meal and lots of presents to open too! Thank you for your support.”

Alongside being passionate about supporting local organisations through its manufacturing capabilities, the team at Zeus are huge-dog lovers and were delighted to be able to help such an important local cause during its time of need.  They are also set to join in with the charity’s virtual Boxing Day Walk to raise further funds, which has replaced its annual ‘Walk in the Park’ event due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

“As soon as we heard that Birmingham Dogs Home needed support over the festive season, we knew we had to step in. As a family-orientated business, we’re so proud to be donating 100% of profits raised from the sale of our Cerberus range to such a worthy cause,” Tim added.
