Clarion named Law Firm of the Year
Having been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Yorkshire Legal Awards, Clarion has been chosen as the region’s Law Firm of the Year (Medium Award).
Launched in 2000, they are among Yorkshire’s best-known awards schemes, bringing together the region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate its achievements. The 2020 awards ceremony this year moved online with the winners announced via a virtual ceremony on 15 December.
Roger Hutton, joint managing partner at Clarion said: “Over the years, we’ve won many awards, including a number of categories at the Yorkshire Legal Awards, but it is the first time that we have been named Law Firm of the Year by the regional legal community and it holds a special place in our hearts.
“I am inordinately proud of our team and what we have achieved, particularly in such a tumultuous year – the strength of the supportive Clarion culture has really shone through and I would like to thank every one of my colleagues for the part they have played.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to highlight how fortunate we are to be part of such a dynamic and talented professional community here in Yorkshire – it is a stand-out region for legal excellence which is a great platform from which to win national and international work.”
Clarion’s Corporate and Commercial practice was also recognised for its outstanding performance over the last 12 months.
Judged by a prestigious panel from the Yorkshire legal community, the awards, recognise the outstanding talent across our region.
With a 250-strong team, the firm reported another year of growth with revenues hitting a record high of £17.42m (for year ending 31st May 2019), a 20% rise in revenues year on year. Clarion also this year achieved three star accreditation as one of the 2020 ‘Best Companies to Work For’ in recognition of its “outstanding levels of engagement” and was ranked No 8 in the prestigious Sunday Times list.
