Trunk and Keane collaborate to bring Greene King’s Christmas Means More Campaign to life

Content specialist Trunk, has partnered with Strategy and Design Studio, Keane, to bring Greene King’s ‘Christmas Means More’ campaign to life, with an emotional film rivalling mainstream Christmas adverts.

The 90 second film, shot over two days pre lockdown 2.0, addresses the importance of Christmas and bringing the family together safely, after what has been a difficult year for most.

Keane tasked the Trunk team with bringing to life their vision of a John Lewis-style film to be used across Greene King’s social media channels, to help drive table bookings in pubs this festive season, despite the hardship facing the hospitality industry.

The story sees three separate families on a visit to their local Greene King pub, enjoying the festive menu available from the pub chain, in a warm and safe environment.

The agencies worked together with Greene King’s brand managers to execute a Covid-secure shoot, using actors from the same bubbles, and following strict guidelines on set. Adam Britton, creative director at Trunk, said: “This piece is the perfect example of how brands don’t have to be working with huge budgets to create something beautiful.

“The message is one that everyone can relate to after the year we’ve had – I for one can’t wait to get back into the pub with my family and friends, enjoying all that Christmas brings. It was important that this film delivered that emotion.

“Working with Keane was a seamless process. We had a small budget and limited time, but the team had a vision for their Christmas Means More campaign, and we worked together to tell the story through a carefully planned storyboard and shot list – we’re extremely proud of what we have produced.”

Ted Jones, Creative Services Director at Keane commented on the partnership: “Our team had seen the Match Day Feeling film that Trunk created for Greene King Sport back in September, so when we came up with the creative concept for Christmas Means More, we knew there was nobody better to bring our story to life through film.”

Trunk is actively recruiting for four new creative roles in its delivery team, including a Digital Illustrator, Games Developer, Cinematographer and a Junior Editor.
